DECEMBER 2009
Hey Ya’ll,
Well,
I'm going to make one last attempt at doing this without boring you to much.
I'm
trying to get out my last Dribble before the Newsletter Lady calls me in and gives me a WHAT FOR. J
I
sure hope this little Dribble finds everyone doing well and enjoying life as much as possible.
WOW!!! What a RIDE.
The
past three years have passed so quickly and as the old saying goes, "All good things must come to an end".
It
is time for Irene and me to bring this chapter in our life to a close and make room for new, younger and fresh ideas.
I'm
without a doubt, as this door closes, another will open and we'll step through and continue to meet new friends while continuing
to share good times with old friends.
We
have met so many nice people around Georgia and the rest of the Region while serving you as Chapter Directors.
I
will say however, the people we've had the pleasure of sharing so many good times with in Chapter E-2 and our sister Chapters
in Beaufort, SC. and Hinesville, Ga. are without a doubt what I would call outstanding, wonderful, God sent people.
God
has so richly blessed us (Irene & I) with the opportunity of knowing you all and sharing so many fun filled times with
you these past 3 years.
I
honestly could not have asked for better friends to have shared so many good times with, laughed AND cried with as we traveled
this path of life together.
While
I know GWRRA does not recommend mixing politics and God in the events, meetings etc...We (Irene & myself) as you know
are Christian people and when we took the CD position, we made a commitment to each other, to the chapter and to God
we would do the best we could with the job and do so as God lead us, while yet not trying to press anyone in the chapter to
change their thoughts, ideas or opinions about us or God. I pray it worked.
I
will however say, I feel all of you have allowed us the freedom to witness to you through laughter and tears, fun times, some
sad times, great meals, great rides and prayer at each meeting and dinner we shared together. We have had the opportunity
to talk and hold prayer with some of you on a closer more personal basis. For ALL of this, I want to say, THANK YOU, GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
I would ask each
of you to please continue to support the chapter, it’s functions/events as well as the new Chapter Directors (Robert
& Trish) and all of the new Staff they pull in place. If they ask you to take a position in the chapter, please help them
if at all possible. They will be in need of your help to continue ensuring the fun filled life of Chapter E-2.
OK,
while I still can, I'll finish my dribble in the same OLD fashion as always then turn it over to the "new people".
We
still have a number of people on the sick list.
Some
still having to stay close to home for bed rest etc… Let’s remember to keep all these friends in our prayers.
Oh
BOY! We turned out another OUTSTANDING group of bikes and riders last month.
We had a total of 143 riders for November. That's
not too shabby for a cool wet month if you ask me.
OH!!! YES, we did set ANOTHER record for riders for the 2009 year.
Since it’s (2009)
not over yet, more about these numbers later.
We
still have a few fun rides and events coming up the next few weeks so keep the Wings ready to ride and let’s end 2009
with some safe FUN.
Did you hear who
the latest person is to win the prestigious BONEHEAD AWARD?? J
WELL, Julian got
lucky and found a few friends to vote for ROBERT PAYNE this time. YES, that's
right; ROBERT PAYNE is the lucky winner of the BONEHEAD award for November. (Julian
offered CA$H for the vote) I hope you got your $$$$$. (GRIN) J
Now, you’re
asking yourself, what did the bone head do??
Well, he's a SLOW
learner it seems. He did almost the SAME thing I did a few months ago. Maybe not quiet as bad as I did but real close.
He called the Friday
dinner location to be at Dairy Queen in Rincon and then he (and a couple other boneheads) went to Dairy Queen in Garden City. HUH??
Robert deserves
this award and is wearing it with great pride until the next mis-hap takes place or next months meeting. Here it is again,
more proof that "No good deed will go un-punished." (GRIN) J
OK,
I’m going to make your day again and cut this off. Keep it short.
I know you can’t
believe it. I can’t believe it myself.
Robert & Trish, Julian & Nita, Clarence & Pat,
Glenn & Jane, Chuck & Karen, Carole & Frank and everyone else, continues to do an outstanding job and I
appreciate it. Without
each of you, I would not have survived the past 3 years with this job. J J
I’ll
end this month same as always.
On behalf of the
Officers and Staff of Chapter E-2, let me say “THANK YOU” for your support. Without each of you supporting
us as you do, we would be sitting home bored stiff looking for something to do other than clean the bike. J
Please allow ME to continue to say “THANK YOU” to the Officers, Staff and my sweet love, Irene.
It’s really them that do (Did) all the work.
I really would like to say again, all the E-2 staff is doing a fantastic job at setting things up and TCB’ing.
(Taking care of business) Without each of you jumping in and doing all the work
you do each time we get together, we would not be functioning as the well oiled team we are. I appreciate you more than you may know.
You have all had a part in keeping this chapter having fun and making it fun for Irene & myself.
Remember to watch out for each other and watch the other guy; they are probably not watching for you.
Ride
Safe.
God
Bless,
Roy & Irene
